JUMP ( Jesus U Must Praise) concert at Fort Canning Green today was just the BOMB! absolutely super cool, with the entire church just under the stars, just praising and worshiping God. old songs, new songs, regulars, newbies, it was just such a great time, as the worship leaders really agave their all, and the youth just standing right in front, going high over praising and worshiping God. when i turned and looked back, it looked as if the people were never ending and i could see no end. i know that this is what we are aiming for, that we want to spread God's Word all around. :)

today, daniel cheah said something that really impacted me.

"the God who
CREATED me,
LOVES me,
ADORES me,
DIES for me,
LIVES for me,
BLESSES me,
is FAITHFUL to me."

yes yes yes! all these things, my God does for me, over and over again.

WOW.

He's probably too drunk to drive. With icy roads barely salted, an early winter makes travel for the responsible dangerous. And Lex is a lot of things, but no one's ever accused him of being a responsible driver.

Yes, after-school special time, or maybe something his nanny should have banged into him between boarding schools, but he's never followed the entire 'just say no' concept very well. It's always been 'yes' and always 'more' and always now.

Lex is a big fan of more.

More attention, more love, more sex, more drugs, more money, more power, more everything. With a bank account that crosses eleven digits and sole control of the largest corporation in America, the word 'more' is starting to take on new and interesting dimensions, because he's twenty-six and there's nothing nothing he hasn't done once and better. He's only twenty-six, and he's achieved the one and only thing his father ever taught him how to want.

The high won't last. Highs never do. Even the mostly-legal kind.

So. Driving. Lamborghini, a car that's almost as good as a fuck--better if he counts the socialites he's been fucking recently. He's been an adrenaline junkie from birth if the few stories he remembers of his early childhood are anywhere close to accurate, but the last thing that scared him was heights. Six months playing at skydiving removed that pretty damn thoroughly. One-fifty in a forty mile per hour zone is pretty much something he can sneeze at--oh, but that was five seconds ago. He passed into one eighty when he made that last exit.

Wow. That's not too bad for a major highway at two in the morning.

Cars are good though. God knows, he has enough of them. Fifty at last count, and he tries to add them up--Ferraris and Porsches and Jaguars and the Aston from Smallville, the pretty little Roadster he remembers buying during a particularly difficult takeover, and the Mercedes that had to have been some kind of lost bet, because he can't stand to drive it. Not--quite the right feeling. Not like silk, not like sex, nothing like this, and it sure as fuck won't hit two hundred.

Two hundred. Jesus.

He's drunk, right. Focus, Lex.

......

just saw this somewhere.

brilliant opening line: He's probably too drunk to drive.

since i have started (and completed) the twilight saga, i have become more sensitive to the ppl ard me who are reading it. like i am seeing more and more strangers w/ it. feels weird.

2 things about twilight:

1. it's becoming a trend (which sucks! cos it diminishes the value of the book)
2. the twilighters are fantics. they are so vehement about jacob or edward, and critical of the upcoming movie. and some of them seriously hate jacob or edward. (personal feelings here: i think that w/o jacob, bella and edward's relationship would not have grown so strong, so i like them both, though jacob gets kinda annoying and edward is a tad too protective.)

i seriously hope that it won't be something that mindless ppl squee over but it'll be a series where the writing style and plot of stephanie meyer is appreciated. i can't stand mindless sheep following a trend. meyer has brilliant chracterization, one of the many reasons to enjoy her work. don't trivialise it. sometimes i just shudder when i see certain types of ppl following the trend. LESS squeeing and extreme statements like "HOW CAN YOU LIKE JACOB/EDWARD? HE SUCKS!" and MORE rational discussion and engagement with plot and character. esp after the conclusion has already been written...

a twilighter (trying to avoid becoming an extreme fan),

i was walking INNOCENTLY to kino on sat w/ grace chin when my eyes got assaulted by a trailer that was playing on their TV. it was a promotional vid of an upcoming movie. i was lost.

what movie? TWILIGHT. yup, i am now in the crazy for this cool series. can't believe i have to wait till 12 dec this yr for the movie to be out, but thank goodness i din fall into the series (though i've seen it millions of times in kino) before the concluding fourth book came out this yr 31st may.

the series is not exactly the usual high fantasy that i read, and i might have called it trash were it not for the compelling characterization. i really never knew i was such a sucker for true love romance stories. like seriously. i totally love the fact that the two main characters are so in love with each other. everything else is just icing on the cake. i totally enjoy how she really stand can't to be without his presence and how he can't stop worrying about her. i din know my preference for such stories till now. i am so HOOKED! oh did i mention that the main male character and his family are vampires? that is just brilliant! she (stephanie meyer, the author) has really good characterization :) to anyone who is reading this, read the book! really brilliant! and not your trad love story, lots of action that just adds to the tension of the plot...

i love the movie posters :) can't wait to watch!
